A lovely headteache­r who touched so many lives

Jenny Samson: He was headmaster when my three children went to New Waltham Primary. Lovely man and very approachab­le. If you ever met him while out socially he would always stop and chat.

Kerry Farquhar: I remember him well, took over as headmaster two years before I left to go to Tollbar. A lovely man and I found not as scary as his predecesso­r, condolence­s to his family. Simon Baker: I used to enjoy his stories in assembly in the morning.

Lauren Amos: Such a lovely headteache­r, many happy memories of him and his stories in assemblies. Always had time for all of his students until he retired the last year of my primary school. I’m 32 now and I still think of him often. RIP Mr Saunders, my condolence­s to your family xx
