A GRIMSBY serial shoplifter is back behind bars after targeting 10 shops in a theft spree.

Corey Boak, 21, of Grimsby Road, was sentenced on Friday, November 26 for 10 shop theft offences from businesses within Victoria Street, Ellis Way, Garibaldi Street, Market Street and Freeman Street.

He is now serving a 20-week sentence.

On his release, he will be under a three year Criminal Behaviour Order - banning him from entering or attempting to enter a number of named stores on Freeman Street, Victoria Street, Holles Street, Corporation Road, Market Avenue and Grimsby Road, Cleethorpes.

Boak had not long been out of prison when he committed his latest offences.

In May this year, he was jailed for 16 weeks for stealing two bottles of vodka, valued at £78, from Tesco in Grimsby on March 31 2021.

At the time, he also admitted breaching a 12-week suspended prison sentence imposed on March 25 for two theft offences and possessing cannabis.

Those offences each involved stealing two bottles of vodka, valued at £34, from Tesco in New Waltham. Community beat manager for Freeman Street, PC Daniel Steel, said: “I’m glad that this person is now behind bars and that the criminal behaviour order was successfully granted.

“This is a great result to safeguard the local community and all of the businesses that reside within the area. “Theft is a serious crime and impacts on those in the local area greatly.

“We will continue to do everything we can to disrupt criminals who carry out crimes of this nature.”
