Spa offering traditional Thai massage opens
NEW BUSINESS IS FIRST OF ITS KIND IN THE AREA
A BRAND new spa offering a selection of traditional massages originating from Thailand has officially opened its doors to the public.
Located at 33 Alexandra Road in Cleethorpes, the Pi Run Thai Massage and Spa is the first of its kind in the area and offers Thai massage, deep-tissue massage, aromatherapy massage and foot massage among others, with a view to offer other treatments like pedicures within the coming months.
The spa is open daily from 10am to 8pm.
Traditional Thai massage is said to aid relaxation, stress relief, headache relief and reduce muscle tension, as well as decrease lower back, muscular and joint pain.
Each massage is priced the same and starts at £30 for a 30-minute massage, £45 for 60 minutes and £65 for a 90-minute massage.
Owner Panpirun Penkruae told the Grimsby Telegraph: “I decided to open my business here because it’s a good area where there’s lots of people walking past to see that we’re open, and it’s great because I get to work alongside my Thai friends here.
“We offer a range of massages and we use tiger balm, which is great for muscle pain, and we use lots of traditional Thai products.”
Speaking about the benefits of Thai massage, massage therapist Joy said: “The massages can really help people with health problems, especially people who have got muscle problems like tightness in the shoulders and pain in various areas of the body.
“I mix the deep tissue massage with Swedish massage and this is great for anyone who’s got muscular problems in the shoulders, neck and back.

Joy continued: “All our staff are highly qualified with all the correct training and each of our massage rooms has been designed to be relaxing and cozy.
“We use hot towels before each of our massages to refresh and relax the feet. We’re the first place in the area to offer traditional Thai massage.
“We want people to come here to enjoy and relax and feel like they don’t want to get up.”
