Louth man, 22, charged with two counts of alleged exposure

LONE WOMEN REPORTED THE INCIDENTS TO POLICE

A 22-YEAR-OLD man from Louth has been charged with two offences relating to exposure, including to a woman at a local business and another woman walking her dog.

Brooklyn McLarnon, 22, of Northgate in Louth, was interviewe­d about the incident in the business which happened in the early hours of Wednesday 11 May. He has since been summonsed to court charged with exposure, but a court date is yet to be set.

A further report was then received from a female dog walker who was allegedly followed by a man down Monks Dyke Road where a man exposed himself to her on 31 May at around 6.45am. On 1 June, McLarnon was charged with this incident and another count of exposure, but was released on bail and will attend court on 17 July.

Neither woman was physically hurt, but Lincolnshi­re Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have informatio­n to come forward and help with their investigat­ions.

They said: “A man has been charged with two offences relating to exposure in Louth over the course of the last month. We received a report that a man had exposed himself to a lone female worker at a business in the town at 4.45am on 7 May. The report was given on 11 May.

“Brooklyn McLarnon, 22, of

Northgate in Louth, was interviewe­d voluntaril­y on 22 May about the incident and has been summonsed to court charged with exposure. The date for that hearing has not yet been determined.

“We then received a further report where a woman alleged that she was walking her dog near the railway walk, Monks Dyke Road in the town on 31 May when she was followed by a man who then exposed himself to her. The incident happened at 6.45am. Incident 65 of 31 May relates.

“On 1 June 2022, McLarnon was charged with one count of exposure in connection with that incident. He has been released on bail and is due in court on 17 July. Neither woman was physically touched in either incident.

“We would like to appeal for anyone else who may have any informatio­n to get in touch with us.”

Sergeant Kelly Palmer, from the Louth Neighbourh­ood Policing Team, said: “We know how worrying it may be to hear these details, but we’d like to reassure you that we take reports like this very seriously and we are conducting a thorough investigat­ion, as well as carrying out patrols of the area.

“We’re grateful to the women who have come forward with reports, and would encourage anyone else with informatio­n to also speak with us. If you have informatio­n which can help the investigat­ion, please contact us.”
