Fourteen vehicles go up in flames at vehicle repair shop

EMERGENCY services descended on a Grimsby business premises following reports of multiple vehicles on fire.
Shortly before 10pm on Monday night, three fire units from Humberside Fire and Rescue, along with officers from Humberside Police, were called to the FMG Repair Services vehicle repair shop on West Coates Road, off Moody Lane.
Firefighters discovered around 14 vehicles in the building’s car park were on fire.
The blaze took around an hour to fully extinguish, the fire service confirmed.
Nobody is thought to have been injured as a result of the incident. A scene guard is currently in place at the premises, with multiple police officers and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers in attendance.
An investigation is currently being carried out to determine the cause of the blaze.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: “A scene guard is currently in place at a premises on West Coates Road in Grimsby following a fire.
“We were called at approximately 10pm last night (Monday, March 25) to reports of several cars on fire at vehicle services business. The fire was extinguished and thankfully nobody was injured as a result of the incident.
“Officers are currently working alongside the fire services to identify the cause of the fire. “Anyone that witnessed the incident, or anybody acting suspiciously in the area at the time of the fire, is asked to call our non-emergency 101 line quoting investigation reference 24*40737.
“Alternatively, you can report information via the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.” A spokesperson for Humberside Fire and Rescue said: “We took a call at 9.40pm and were quickly on scene.
“We sent a total of three fire e engines and our firefighters arrived d at a well-established fire involving g approximately 14 vehicles. The fire e was fully extinguished by 10.50pm.” ”
