THREE people, including two teenagers, have been arrested after police were called to reports of “gunshots” in Cleethorpes. Armed response and uniformed officers were immediately deployed to Barcroft Street after Humberside Police received a call from a member of the public on Monday who heard the sounds between 8.30pm and 9pm.
Since then, detectives have been investigating the incident, including a thorough search of the area, house-to-house enquiries, and going through CCTV footage.
Issuing an update on the investigation, Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Nicola Burnett said: “I can confirm as a part of our enquiries, last night (Tuesday, March 26) we arrested a teenage boy and two men at a property on Brereton Avenue in Cleethorpes.
“A 17-year-old boy and an 18-yearold man were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and possession of class B drugs.
The man was also arrested on suspicion of assault and affray. The third person, a 51-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of affray. “A scene guard is in place at the property and locals to the area can expect to see a police presence over the coming days while officers carry out further enquiries into what we believe to be an isolated incident between individuals known to each other.
