Home exhibition could open doors for firm
A Halifax firm are hoping their appearance at the Grand Designs Live show in London next month will open a few doors. Architectural Glass Systems specialise in the design, supply and installation of aluminium and steel glazing systems for homes across the UK.
Using an extensive suite of high quality products at their on-site facilities on Hanson Lane, the company carries out everything in-house, including design and manufacture.
The team are currently gearing up for the UK’s leading homes show where they will be on hand to offer expert advice for the thousands of visitors expected to descend on the city.
Director Edward Dupuy said: “We only decided to go two weeks ago but we want to go there because we’ve got a new product and though it would be a good place to test the waters.
“The new product is a contemporary door which no-one else in the country is offering.
“Our business model has changed over the last 12 months.
“We’ve always worked in commercial and retail but we are pushing towards doing more domestic work.”
The firm was founded eight years ago by Andrew Stedmans and Ed Dupuy. Between them they have 30 years’ experience within the glass and glazing industry.

It is the first time they have been at the show, which takes place at the London ExCeL between May 2 and 10 and is based on the hugely popular Channel 4 TV show, Grand Designs.
More than 100,000 consumers are expected to visit the event over the nine days.
Edward added: “We’ll be offering product samples, there will be two working doors, one of which will be kitted out completely with an electrical lock that uses fingerprint recognition.
“There’ll also be a competition for someone to win a free door.
“We’ll test the waters with it and hopefully they’ll prove a success, which could generate millions of pounds for us.”
