- By Joseph Keith

Trivia lovers pitted their wits against each other and raised hundreds of pounds during a special quiz for charity. Teams from across the region took part in a quiz to raise cash for Halifax charity Next Step Trust.

The event, which took place at the Shay Stadium, raised a total of £1,200 for the charity.

It was organised by law firm Wilkinson Woodward Solicitors which has offices in Brighouse and Halifax.

The winner of the event was law firm Broadway House Chambers, who were awarded the Wilkinson Woodward Bearders Trophy.

Wilkinson Woodward managing director Maureen Cawthorn said: “We are very grateful to everyone who supported the event and helped to raise vital funds for such a worthy cause.”

The charity supports adults across the district with learning disabilities and special needs.

Next Step Trust chief exec- utive Preet Sandhu said: “The Next Step Trust provides a comprehensive day service provision alongside personalised services for the individuals we support.

“As a charity, we rely on the fund raising activities of our supporters and we are indebted to Wilkinson Woodward for their ongoing support.”

The charity started in 2006 by parents.

It aims to provide a day service provision and a number of other services to support adults with special needs. Visit www.nextsteptrust.org.uk for more details.
