Adam set for comeback?

- By James Roberts

Halifax forward Adam Robinson could make a surprise return to the side in Saturday night’s crucial Championship scrap with London Broncos at Keighley (6.0). The prop or back rower has not played since tearing his calf in the Summer Bash loss to Bradford at Blackpool a month ago.

But coach Richard Marshall, who has an injury doubt over centre Steve Tyrer, reported Robinson had made an ahead-of-schedule return to full training this week.

“Adam’s back training this week, so he could be involved,” said Marshall, whose side sit fourth, level on points with the Broncos, going into the game.

“He’s obviously not played for a while, but I would rate his chances of being involved as reasonably high.

“He offers us something a little bit different in what is an important game for both clubs.

“On the other side of the coin, Tyrer is struggling; he hurt his wrist at Dewsbury and although it’s not broken, it is pretty swollen.

“It might settle down, but we’ll review our options there.”

If Tyrer does miss out, Marshall could turn to the former Warrington junior Jake Eccleston, who made his Fax debut as a trialist at Hunslet a fortnight ago.

“We’ve got a few choices; Dane Manning can play there, Ed Barber can play there,” said Marshall. Turn to page 78
