Carpet Mill started as Green Mount Stores in 1992, we purchased what was to be our first store, an old church in East Ardsley (Wakefield) and converted it into a warehouse and shop which was open to the public selling carpets to retail customers at wholesale prices.
The Carpet Mill business was about price even at this early stage, something which we are still passionate about even now.
In short we bought in bulk, direct from the manufacturer and passed the savings onto the customer.
In 2000 our Wakefield, East Ardsley branch had a face lift and we built our first distribution warehouse in Mirfield. Our Leeds and Halifax stores were soon to follow.
