The Rotary Club of Elland met at Baines Hall, Elland Cricket Club, on Monday, October

21. There were 16 members, three associate members and eight guests present as President David Best called the meeting to order at 7.30pm. A warm welcome was given to the president who returned following his accident after the Elland Show, and it was wonderful to see him looking so much better. President David welcomed all to the meeting and especially founder member Rotarian Trevor Wilson who had not been present for some time. There were five boards being passed around the members. The first was for the Bonfire Night on November 2, one for the Poppy Appeal, one for RYLA and Students Presentati­ons to be held on November 4, one for the next meal evening on November 18 then one for the Grand Quiz Evening at Bradley Hall Golf Club and lastly one for the Christmas Meal on December 16. There then followed a wonderful meal after which President David introduced Coun Marilyn Greenwood to give her presentati­on on the proposed Elland Railway Station and where it was likely to be placed in Elland,
