AN INJURY and a sending-off resulted in Brighouse Town blowing a comfortable 2-0 lead as they lost 4-2 at Kendal Town.

The Mintcakes looked a beaten side when Vill Powell’s men dominated with wave after wave of attacks during a onesided first quarter.

been out of sight.

On ten minutes Joe Jagger found the target after his costriker Luke Rawson fed him with a good ball.

Six minutes later, Shiraz Khan cut inside from the left, some 40 yards out, and danced his way through the home side’s defence before placing the ball wide of home keeper Morgan Bacon for the goal of the season so far.

Against the run of play and aided by some slack defending, Kendal pulled a goal back through Emil Jasskelainen and they gradually grew more into the game.

They were well and truly aided in the 37th minute when

Connor Griffin went down in a heap on the touchline and after treatment, was helped from the field with a hamstring injury.

James Hurtley, after a long lay-off through injury, replaced him.

Town’s overall play, after looking so good was going into scrappy mode and first Tim Akinola was cautioned in the 42nd minute and a minute later Kurt Harris was shown a straight red for a lunging tackle on Kendal’s Christian Sloan.

The travelling Town fans knew it was then going to be a long second-half, trying to defend a 2-1 lead.

At the break Jack Lazenby replaced Eddie Church with defence clearly in the manager’s mind.

However, with the extra man Kendal went on to dominate the second 45 minutes and Joseph Dickson headed in from a corner, given away far too easily, to equalise with 67 minutes on the clock.

Four minutes later, Sloan hit the target to edge the hosts ahead and the game was well and truly sewn up in the 83rd minute when Dickson drove beyond the reach of Jordan Porter to make it 4-2.

To their credit, Town did not give up and did have some chances to score but they were either blocked or wide of the target.
