CALDERDALE

-

He announced that there were apologies for absence from four members.

President David welcomed everybody and announced that there were five boards circulating amongst the members.

The first board was for the Valentines ball to be held at Baines hall on February 15 and the others for Youth Speaks, the primary school quiz, the mock interviews, and the Greyhound racing. Secretary Ingrid Holdsworth said that not all schools had responded to say they would be attending the school quiz.

A very hearty meal was then served after which Rotarian Rosemary Webb was invited by the president to step forward and give her Job Talk.

She gave a fascinating talk about her career which started at Barclays Bank which she quit after some years and then started working at the Job Centre in Halifax which was quite involved.

Part of her job included interviewing asylum seekers and also a gentleman who lived in the fields and refused her offer of accommodation.

She then left that job and went to work as a veterinary assistant for a very short time before it became too emotional and she decided to retire. Rosemary’s talk was very well received by all and Rotarian Andrew Marsh gave the Vote of Thanks.

With no further business to discuss the raffle was drawn and was won by Rosemary Wilkinson. After the final toast the meeting concluded at 8.40pm.

The panto is to be held in the Parish Rooms, Rochdale Road, Greetland.

The panto will run from; Wednesday, February 19 to Saturday, February 22.
