Sanasy out to give home fans something to cheer in Yorkshire Youth finals
HALIFAX ABC boxer Rhys Sanasy booked his place in the Yorkshire Youth finals with a thoroughly convincing victory last Sunday.
His home club hosted the semi-finals and Sanasy rose to the occasion when he took on Daniel Knee, from the Ludus Magnus gym.
The lad from Doncaster is a former kickboxer with more than 60 fights under his belt but he struggled to make a mark on Sanasy, who out-boxed him to win every round.
Halifax head coach Mick Rowe said: “Rhys gets stronger and stronger and with a bit more polished performance he will be a real handful.”
The semi-finals were well attended and the club will be hoping for another good show when it hosts the finals on Sunday (February 2).

■ Halifax Bridge Club: Bridge is fun: When struggling to make a contract in the face of the smart strategy of the opposition, the game may not seem quite as enjoyable as that statement suggests.
However, it is the main reason we carry on turning up at our club or travelling to another venue in order to participate in different surroundings.
Halifax’s D team is an excellent example of this commendable attitude in playing a game for its own sake.
Recently, it suffered its fourth reverse in five matches but Jenny’s cheery crew continued to meet adversity with a smile and a positive attitude. For them, bridge really is fun.
