Auction follows firm’s closure

- By Sally Burton

A FAMILY-RUN business established over 40 years ago has gone in to administration due to difficult trading conditions.

Administrators from DL Partnership in Halifax have been appointed over Dickinson Caravans Ltd, that closed at the end of January.

Dickinson’s was very well regarded both in the industry and by customers. Most of its trading has been from the landmark site on Canal Road, Bradford.

Joint administrator, Sarah Long, said: “The family worked tirelessly to stave off this day, however the business suffered due to challenging trading conditions.

“To protect customers and suppliers the directors took the difficult, but necessary, decision to cease trading prior to our appointment. We are now actively marketing the assets for sale and have appointed Walker Singleton as our agents.”

Howard Eastwood, director in the machinery & business assets department at Walker Singleton, said: “The business offered a complete service to customers from sales of new and used caravans and accessories through to an equipped service workshop. We are currently preparing an auction sale of the assets that will take place over forthcoming weeks.

“It is perhaps a reflection of the respect and recognition within the industry that we have already been contacted by parties wanting to explore acquisition of property, stocks and aspects of the trading brand. Open marketing will ensure transparency and that fullest value for the creditors is recovered.” Visit www.walkersingleton.co.uk for more details.
