Leaders Cock and Bottle should boost title hopes with win against FC Hounds

-

COCK AND Bottle can take another step closer to the Calder Valley Sunday League Premier Division title with a win at strugglers FC Hounds.

The league leaders are three points clear of FC Panda with two games in hand, so another win on Sunday would be a significant result in the title race.

Feathers hope to play their first game of 2020 when they host Clifton Rangers at Holmes Park.

Linthwaite can move to within a point of FC Panda if their trip to bottom side Mirfield goes to form, while Hollins Holme visit Deighton.

There is a huge game in the race for promotion from Division One when table-toppers Ravenswharfe host secondplaced Lee Mount.

Ravenswharfe lead Mount by two points but have played four games more, so desperately need all three points to realistically keep their title hopes alive.

Ryburn Valley and Park FC, both in the top-half of the table, should have little trouble in overcoming bottom two Thrum Hall and Snowdon at home respectively.

Elsewhere, Woodhouse host Wire Works hoping to play their first game since late last month.

In the first round of the Carpets Direct Brighouse League Cup, there’s an all Division One clash between Cock of the North and Wellington Westgate, with the winners away to Old Post Office, while FC Panda Reserves are hot favourites to progress away to Inter Batley, who are rock bottom of Division Two. The winners are at home to Spen FC.

The race for the Division Two title continues to intrigue, with leaders Old Pond desperate for points and for second-placed Spen FC to slip-up.

Spen FC, who are one point behind but have played four games less, are expected to comfortably see off secondfrom-bottom Clifton Rangers Reserves, meaning the pressure is on Old Pond, who face a tricky looking clash with third-placed Clifton Rangers Reserves at Lane Head

The other games in Division Two see mid-table tussles between Battyeford and Halifax Rangers, and Old Post Office v Barum Top.
