warning.
I was of the understanding land that was designated as flood plains should not be developed.
The world is run by the deadliest of the seven sins GREED where some people will never have enough money.
Lynn Moore
It should never have been a resort in the first place. Flood plains are brilliant for developers though, flat land, usually near transport routes and they’ll be long gone before the manure hits the ventillator.
Steve Ogilvie
There seem to be plenty of houses and flats that can be upgraded without any more building. Especially on flood plains! Plant an oak tree or two instead on them. They drink loads of water! There are plenty of mills still standing derelict that the council could do up. Empty shops are another option.
Triste Simonet Shaw
Cobblers...building on flood plains should be totally outlawed...doesn’t he know what flood plains do?
Sue Mackrill
Building on flood plain as last resort? It’s a flood plain, it will flood, what is not to understand?
Julia Sunderland
Doesn’t address the here and now, there is a housing shortage! But people living in the current flooded areas will be unable to sell their homes even when they have been made good.
Who will grant a mortgage, who will insure the homes, they are to all intent unsaleable.
Some of the best starter homes are in these areas, cottages, terraces etc, but they will be taken out of the market making mobility worse. Can our Calderdale Council put a stop to the plan and really focus their minds on current issues, make sure that the future is not one of build, build wherever, but make the existing more sustainable and good to live in once more.
Derek Armstead
You don’t need to be a genius to get to this conclusion do you?
