MYTHOLMROYD
The March meeting is scheduled to return to St Michael’s Church Hall adjacent to the church on New Road, Mytholmroyd on Friday, March 13 at 7.30pm. The building was damaged in the floods which afflicted the village last month. Members and non–members (£3) are invited who it is hoped for a nominal sum will become members. The speaker for March is David Fletcher who will talk on ‘Life in the Upper Calder Valley 1950-2020’.

The next presentation of the Society will be held on Thursday, March 19 which is a talk by Bill Tetlow featuring his work with Donkeys. The talk is titled ‘A Man’s Second Best Friend’. The presentation commences at 7.30pm and is held at Northowram Methodist Church. The Northowram Historical Society’s research group meet at Heywood

Staying Well is held at Heywood every Tuesday morning at 10.30am to bring friendship to those people who are lonely. Members talk about walks they have been on and Marilyn brought some information about Denholme Church being made into a dwelling. Chris writes and reads her poetry and Pauline is learning signing for the deaf and shares with the group her expertise. If the weather is bad Alan Rushworth will show some of his slides about historical events in Northowram. The aim at Heywood is to continue to be a dementia-friendly village.
