College secures top results
CALDERDALE COLLEGE has been ranked the best college in West Yorkshire for student results for the third consecutive year, with 92 per cent of students achieving their qualification in 2018/19.
The college also ranks in the top four of 172 general further education (GFE) colleges nationally for results.
In addition, the results show that Calderdale College is the best in the country specifically for Business, Admin and Law, with more students achieving their qualifications on these courses at Calderdale College than in any other college in England.
Rated Outstanding by Ofsted for their apprenticeship provision, Calderdale College is also in the top two colleges in West Yorkshire for apprenticeship results.
Students studying vocational courses benefit from working on live briefs for clients, such as Covea Insurance, Lloyds Banking Group and Impact Gamers. These real projects have given Business students the chance to gain experience, whilst developing the knowledge of agile working practices used in industry.
Matthew Metcalfe, Senior Manager – Talent Acquisition at Covea Insurance, said of the results: “We are delighted to see the latest superb set of results achieved by the College. They play a key role in enabling our business to recruit highly talented individuals in Calderdale and have done so over a number of years through the high quality apprenticeships they deliver.
“We are very excited to be working in collaboration with them to develop programmes that add real value to Covéa Insurance and the wider Calderdale community.”
