Online event to help businesses

- Tom Scargill

A BRIGHOUSE business owner has organised an online community fayre to help local businesses get back on their feet.

Hollie Denby runs children’s bookshop Bella’s Books and has so far signed up other businesses including Jupiter Moon Photo, The Stitching Station and The Edge Play Gym to take part.

She said: “I know that our local businesses have really been affected during lockdown with many of them being forced to close.

“So I decided to create this, the Brighouse Online Community Fayre, to hopefully help the Brighouse community and surrounding areas to come together and support our lovely town.

“We have some fantastic businesses already confirmed and the full line-up and agenda for the day will be announced shortly.

“I will personally be organising the event free of charge to help local businesses during this tough time.

“Each business will be given a 30-minute time slot within the event to either go live on video, post a pre-recorded video or photos and advertise their business or products to the local community.

“Any local business is welcome to get in touch with me, but I will have a limited number of time slots available on the day so it will be first come, first served. I’m ideally looking for small independent businesses located in Brighouse.

“I have set the event up on Facebook and any businesses taking part will be made a ‘cohost’ of the event, meaning they can do a live video or post videos/photos on the event page throughout their allocated 30 minute time slot. The local community can then comment on the posts or ask questions and place orders throughout the whole day, and afterwards.”
