No reception and maximum 30 people - new Government wedding advice has been issued for couples tying the knot.

Beggars belief that they can’t hold a reception at a private party, no drinks, no food, nothing afterwards. Yet they could take themselves and their

20 odd guests to the local Wetherspoo­ns and celebrate with the rest of the public.

I’m all for people’s safety, but come on, if they’re going to allow it to take place, at least let them enjoy their day in the confines of a venue no doubt hired by them for a private function.
