Low Moor add six ahead of new season

-

NEWLY PROMOTED Low Moor HTCC have made their intentions clear by adding six new signings to bolster their ranks ahead of the delayed and shortened 2020 ENCO Halifax Cricket League season which starts on Saturday, July 18.

The most high profile signing is that of prolific run scorer and opening batsman Andrew Pinfield who rejoins the club he last played for in 2006 after spending the last two seasons at Bradford League neighbours Buttershaw St Paul’s.

Experienced Pinfield also manages the Halifax Cricket League team and has won the Premier League title and Parish Cup with his last Halifax League club Jer Lane in the last decade. He has also amassed a stunning 47 first team centuries throughout a lengthy playing career.

Also joining the First Division club are bowlers Matthew Jordan and Stuart Fenton from Great Horton Park Chapel Paul Chapman, an all rounder and ex Jer Lane, alongside big hitting batsmen Ben Maxwell and Danny Wilkins.

Golf: The ladies section at Crow Nest Park GC played their first major competition of the 2020 campaign, when a field of 18 competed in the Ellisford Trophy.

Wind and rain made the golf course difficult to negotiate for those taking part in the medal competition.

Barbara Horrocks came out the clear winner by four shots with a net 75 from Elaine Mackie with 79 and Diane Higgins with net 80. The best gross score on the day was also recorded by Barbara Horrocks with 92.
