Classic car fest back next year
THE ANNUAL Hebden Bridge Vintage Weekend has been postponed until next year, due to the coronavirus crisis.
Hundreds of tourists and Calderdale natives flock to Calder Holmes Park every summer to admire the retro cars and enjoy old school music. The nostalgiafueled festival was due to take place next weekend. The event will next take place on July 31 and August 1 2021.
Organisers have now processed all ticket refund and roll over requests and will be in touch with ticket holders. If you have requested a roll over, you will be contacted early next year to confirm your booking and offer you a chance to update your contact and vehicle details.
A spokesperson said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all the 2020 entrants for their understanding and forbearance, following the cancellation of this year’s Vintage Weekend.
“We are extremely grateful to the hundreds of entrants who have donated their fee to the Rotary Club’s charity trust account, they can be assured that their money will be put to good use helping the poor and needy and alleviating some of the hardship suffered by the most vulnerable following the devastating floods in the upper Calder Valley, earlier this year, and the distressing effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. We expect a heavy demand on our limited resources over the coming months. We are taking preliminary steps in planning next year’s event and realise that some things will have to change. We will be guided by the relevant authorities on the best way forward and will always have the safety of everyone who attends the Vintage Weekend at the core of our plans.
“We are now looking forward to welcoming all our supporters, vehicle owners, spectators, and sponsors to Hebden Bridge next year, for what we expect to be, our best ever show.”
