- By Sports Reporter

LAST YEAR’S top two battled it out at Broad Fold Park where Booth recovered from last week’s shock defeat to beat Illingworth St Mary’s by 33 runs.

The home team posted 243-7 thanks to Richard Laycock (68), Matthew Hoyle (62) and Patrick Thomas (49 not out).

Only Hamza Mehmood (47) caused any problems in the reply as Thomas (5-66) ensured the visitors were out for 210.

Leaders Triangle successfully chased Mytholmroyd’s 251.

Saad Hussain hammered 95 runs in 56 balls, but the early order damage had been inflicted by Liam Turner’s 6-53.

Daniel Crossland (73), Kurtis Whippey (63 not out) and Adam Stocks (48) all enjoyed knocks as a winning score target of 252-4 was reached.

Blackley won at home to SBCI, chasing the visitors score of 179-9, only one ball remained as 180-8 was reached, Wayne Swift (52 not out) was the difference.

Bradshaw won a low scoring contest at Sowerby Bridge, who stumbled to 93 before Robert Fairbairn (25 not out) guided his team home at 94-9.

Copley surprised Warley with a seven-wicket win as Cameron van Rensberg (58) and Chris Marsh (55 not out) helped the home team to 161-5 before Copley’s Gavin Whipp (55 not out) and Will Rushton (66) featured in a 103 second-wicket partnership that helped Whipp to cross the line at 163-3.

Thornton had an 108-run win over Shelf Northowran HT as half-centuries from Bradley Weatherhead (58 not out) and Ryan Brooksbank (58) were the mainstays of 231-9 total.

In reply only Luke Cole (36 not out) showed any form as SNHT were 123 all out.

In the First Division as Clayton hammered 302 in 39.4 overs at home to Luddendenfoot as opener Chris Ramsden (97), Joseph Brown (41), and Matthew Roe (51 not out) were in form.

Foot skipper Daniel Barron (40) then top-scored, but they were 168 all out.

Upper Hopton’s latest win came at home to Oxenhope as Matt Broadbent (58 not out) and Matthew Haigh (43) combined to add 87 runs in a total of 241-8 with credit to Anas Tanveer for his 4-46.

Craig Bartlett (50) and Chris Kibble (55 not out) then featured in a total of 147.

Low Moor HT won at Mount. The home team chose to bat first, Umar Valli (45) in form in their 163-8 before HT skipper Lee Broadbent (73) ensured 1645 was reached with eight overs to spare.

In the Second Division Outlane went top when they entertained Southowram at Old Lindley Road and won with ease.

The visitors never looked comfortable after deciding to bat first and had it not been for Yasir Mahmood (42) propping up the innings it would not have topped 100 – as it was the crawl to 110 all out in 38.4 was never going to be competitive, five Outlane bowlers sharing the wickets.

Led by opener Jordan Croft (44 not out), the home team only required 23 overs to reach 111-4 and maximum points.

There was a much similar result at Queensbury where Augustininians were bowled out for 136, in this case Shakeel Mahmood (51) holding their innings together.

The home team, after losing two wickets for 47, then saw the visitors use six bowlers in trying to dislodge the unbeaten thirdwicket partnership of 90 runs between Oliver Challis (54 not out) and Joseph Clough (53 not out) as 137-2 was recorded in less than 26 overs to put Queensbury in second place.
