were given free licences, and they had an independent adjudicator (not OFCOM) to ensure true impartiality in all shows and news content. Most of their news, comments and debates are fixed and towards the views of the lefty cosmopolitan London bubble.

It’s time to put the BBC to the sword. Make them stand on their own two feet. I choose not to have Sky TV because I would be paying far too much for rubbish I’m not interested in or going to watch. With the BBC I don’t appear to have that choice. Most of the BBC are overpaid average Joes.

Christopher Morgan

At the moment, we’re all paying too much for a service that’s only providing us with repeats, the news is not representative of what’s going on and sports!

What are we paying for? At least we’ve got Line of

Duty - which is a repeat! But probably their best.

Philip Lee

The BBC ought to be paying all licence payers a rebate to compensate for the constant repeats and garbage they broadcast under the false title of entertainment!

There are many corporations that are fined for giving sub standard service!

What makes the BBC any different?

John Rogers

The licence fee underpins the principle of us having an independent national broadcaster, which isn’t in the pocket of government or big business.

Which makes the BBC a reliable, trusted source of news, a flagship broadcaster envied the world over.

For those calling for an end to the licence fee, look at

CNN and Fox News in the US before making your easy little arguments.

Simon Jenkins

We don’t just want USA serials on our TVs. Or USA owned media companies pumping American stuff into our homes.

The licence fee is good value for money.

We should do what Germany does, just fund it out of general taxation.
