Strength and conditioning coach in place for Shaymen’s return to training

“We have a strength and conditioning coach who was with us once a month last year and he’s been contracted to two days a week.

“That’s another step in the right direction behind-thescenes and shows what we’re trying to do better.”

Wild said there had been no developments over the possible transfers of Matty Brown and Jacob Hanson, both of whom have been made available by the club.

The Town boss said he will reiterate what he has told players individually this summer when the squad meet up to begin pre-season training.

“It’s a real opportunity now and I’m really looking forward to it,” he said.

“We’ve got a lot of Football League experience in the squad and players who want to take this club onto the next level.

“I’ve got the players I want now, and who I think can take us to the next level.”

Wild also said the squad will be tested for coronavirus prior to pre-season training getting underway.

“There’s not a requirement from the league to do it, but we will done one round when they come back, to make sure the new squad’s clear, and then maybe one more,” he said.

“We’ve got testing stuff left over from the play-offs so it makes sense to make sure we’re as safe as possible.”

Town were strengthened by the addition of 22-year-old defender Tom Bradbury this week, who has signed a one-year contract after being released by fellow National League club Yeovil this summer.

On his latest signing, Wild told the club’s website: “I am really pleased to get Tom on board, he is a left-sided centrehalf with all the raw attributes to become an excellent centrehalf. For 22, Tom has played over 150 senior games of football and this is a real plus for him. From the moment I met him, I knew I was on to a player with the drive both on and off the pitch who has potential to become a real asset to the club.

“He is very mature for his age and has true ambition to do well. Left-footed centre-halves are very hard to come by, but he will offer real balance to our squad,”
