First Christmas for festive pups
AN ADORABLE litter of sausage dogs named after each of Santa’s reindeer are preparing to celebrate the first Christmas in their forever homes.
The gorgeous pups were appropriately named Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolf after being born last December.
The lively litter along with mum Olive immediately captured the hearts of staff at RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District Branch.
They proved so adorable that each dachshund was snapped up within only a month and are now enjoying the first festive season in their forever homes.
Cupid, now called Betsy, was rehomed with Christine Allen in Glossop in Derbyshire, who fell in love as soon as she saw the pooch.
Christine said: “She’s the best thing in the whole world. I still can’t believe how lucky I was.
I’d circled her in the group picture of all the puppies and I was so surprised that she was still there. I love her to bits.
Vixen, now named Luna, was rehomed with Paige and Andrew Crofts in Swadlincote in South Derbyshire.
Luna joined their other dachshunds Rebel and Wilson to make the perfect trio.
Paige said: “Luna settled in absolutely fine. She’s such a good girl. She’s now inseparable with Rebel and Wilson.
Dancer now named Monty was rehomed to Louise Hollowell in Birkenhead and her family. Louise said: “Monty has thrived during lockdown but I must admit he does try to follow the kids into school now they’re back.
