Stunner from Bell seals victory over Eastleigh

-

FC HALIFAX Town beat Eastleigh 3-1 at The Shay in their last game before Christmas.

Jamie Allen and Keiran Green gave Town a 2-0 halftime lead before Tyrone Barnett got one back for the visitors after the restart.

But substitute Nyal Bell wrapped up the three points for Town with a superb longrange strike late on.

A swift counterattack just after the half-hour mark saw Billy Chadwick and Allen bear down on goal, and after a sideways pass from Chadwick, Allen kept his composure to fire past Eastleigh keeper Joe McDonnell.

Then just before half-time, Tom Bradbury’s header back across the box from a corner was controlled well by Green before the midfielder home from close range.

Eastleigh pulled one back in the 52nd minute when a poor back pass by Neil Danns put Barnett through on goal and he finished one-on-one with Sam Johnson.

But with six minutes to go, Bell produced a terrific strike to seal the win when he brought down a long ball forward, held off his man and cut inside before firing perfectly into the top corner.
