TUESDAY NIGHT was frustrating, we seemed to have a lot of the ball, get in areas where we’d create chances but maybe didn’t have enough on target.

I didn’t think they were a threat. We made a mistake, which happens, and then it’s an unbelievable strike which 19 times out of 20 doesn’t go in.

It’s frustrating to have a lot of the ball, get into areas, but we didn’t really have that clinical edge to do anything with it.

I didn’t think we were second best but mistakes have killed us, which we know. Suddenly they’ve just crept in but we’ve got to do our bit at the other end of the pitch by scoring goals.

That will come, I just think we’ve got to be a little bit more clinical in the final third when we do have the ball, and play simple football, stop trying to complicate it. We’ve got a great group of lads who all know the ability we’ve got in the squad. It is frustrating because we know where we should be. It’s just those little things that have crept up on us and these little mistakes are getting the better of us at the minute.

But we’ve got big enough characters to brush that aside, forget about them and move on. We’ve got to stick together like we’ve done all year and we’ll turn those little mistakes around.

It’s a massive test for us on Saturday, a team that have been at the top end of the table all season, a good footballing side. It’s a challenge that we’re relishing. We played them earlier in the season but didn’t get the win, which was frustrating because I think we’ve been more than a match for any team in this league and held our own. It’ll be a good game, on the telly, a chance to go and show ourselves and get back to a positive performance

It’s the kind of league where you do pick results up where no-one fancies you, and we’ve got to have the belief in the squad that we are a good team, which we’ve shown, to go and get results and how our worth to the league.
