Are in Sweden is one of Scandinavia’s most popular skiing resorts and was set to host the 2021 Special Olympics World Winter Games, until it was delayed by a year and moved to Kazan in Russia. But it’s still getting a little publicity thanks to this thrilling 10-part drama series which offers breathtaking panoramas of the amazing local scenery. Although it’s a picturesque place, we soon learn that it can be dangerous too because each episode follows the lives of the local mountain rescue team, as well as the police, fire service and local doctors. At the centre of it all are Asa and her son, and Sofia, a medic with a reckless love life.

Neil Dudgeon, left, and Nick Hendrix are back as DCI John Barnaby and his trusty sidekick DS Jamie Winter, and they’re joined by several notable guest stars including Annette Badland, Griff Rhys Jones, Imogen Stubbs, Wendi Peters and Derek Griffiths. This time, the dynamic duo must investigate life in Granville Norton (which sounds more like a person than a place), a village famous for the healing power of its locally produced honey. The bees responsible are owned by local aristocrats the Deddingtons, and it seems that at least one of them will stop at nothing to make sure the family business remains intact.

Sheffield United will be hoping to emulate their 2014 run to the FA Cup semi-finals, which eventually saw them succumb to runners-up Hull City. Standing in their way at Stamford Bridge are Thomas Touchel’s much-improved Chelsea (kick-off 1.30pm). Then, in what is arguably the tie of the round, Leicester City host Manchester United at the King Power (kick off 5pm). United advanced to the last eight with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against West Ham United. Their opponents, Brendan Rodgers’ high-flying Foxes, have defeated Stoke, Brentford and Brighton in their run so far.
