Step out this ‘Step-tember’ in support of Overgate Hospice
SCORES OF walkers will take to the streets of Calderdale on Saturday, September 18 to help raise vital funds for Overgate Hospice.
The walkers will take on brand new seven and 13 mile routes, starting and finishing at North Bridge Leisure Centre, Halifax.
The walk is a great way for supporters of Overgate to finally come together after a year of not being able to see and be with loved ones due to the Covid pandemic restrictions.
All walkers will receive a tshirt before the event, which they will wear on the night and once they cross the finish line,

walkers will receive a medal plus bacon butty to warm them up.
Registration is £15 per person or £21 on the night, which pays for a Midnight Walk T-Shirt, a medal, a goody bag and refreshments. The entry fee means that every penny raised in sponsor money goes to the patients at the hospice. The Midnight Walk in 2019 raised over £58,000.
You can also take on a walking challenge safely on your own whenever you chose as Overgate’s Steptember challenge is back by popular demand.
The feedback from the campaign in 2020 was so good that Overgate felt it needed to be back for 2021. This is a month long challenge where participants complete previous Midnight Walk routes to raise much funds for the Elland hospice.
Rosemount Estates have sponsored the Midnight Walk for many years and even sponsored the new Steptember Challenge in 2020. The team are huge supporters of Overgate and have decided to sponsor both events this year.
Jess Bailey, Events Fundraiser at Overgate Hospice, said: “We are so excited to finally be able to come together and put on our first big event of the year! We can’t wait for the Midnight Walk as this is such a special night for everyone at the Hospice.
“We couldn’t believe how amazing the feedback was for our Steptember Challenge last year that we just had to do it again! This event is great for those who don’t like the idea of walking at midnight but can still get involved.
“We really hope the community will get behind us and join us this September.”
