1,000 mile expedition for charity
A CALDERDALE mindset coach and financial adviser is embarking on a 1,040-mile non-stop trek to raise funds for Brighouse based homeless charity, Focus4Hope.
Jonathan Kattenberg is the Founder of Walking with My Bear and Life Wealth Coaching. A a coach who has been applying mindset techniques amongst other therapeutic approaches for over 20yearsalongsidewealthcoaching and advising. The expedition, initially planned to take place in the arctic, will instead be across the
Peak District, cover up to 75 miles a day. The campaign will begin on April 12, taking two weeks to complete. The goal of the campaign is to raise funds for a support worker for Brighouse based charity Focus4Hope.Focus4Hopeisacharity that provides support for the elderly, homeless, isolated, and otherwise vulnerable in West Yorkshire.
Louise Reed, Founder of Focus4Hope, said: “We’re amazed by the undertaken that Jonathan is doing. Covering over 1,000 miles, carrying all his supplies with him in one go. We’re delighted that he has chosen to support us on his mission and want to help get the word out to everyone we can”.
“The funds raised will go to pay for a support worker for us, who can work with the most vulnerable people we help get back on their feet, accessing the tools and resources they need to get off the street and back into work”.
Speaking at the announcement, Jonathan said: “Focus4Hope tackle two issues that are important to me, homelessness and helping women impacted by domestic violence. The number of domestic violence incidents has risen by a third in the past year, the highest number since records began.”
In 2022 Jonathan will repeat the expeditioninAlaskaandtheYukon, if restrictions ease after pandemic, covering a further 1,000 miles pulling his own sled. “If I can raise just £10 per mile, we can fund a support worker for Focus4Hope for a year” Jonathan added. “I encourage everyone to dig deep and help an incrediblyimportantlocalcause”.
