FC HALIFAX TOWN

- Tom Scargill

WE SPOKE to Greg Plummer from Lynn News for the lowdown on Town’s opponents on Saturday.

What kind of shape do they come into the game in? Lynn have a habit of tinkering with their formations. They could start with a flat back four or may go with a diamond, but they will try to play football whatever they decide to start with. Up until the midweek defeat at Stockport – and with the win over Dover now expunged from records – Lynn have won 27 points. That’s 10 points in the first third, eight in the second and nine in the third ,with the latter quite incredible considering they only have three players remaining from the squad that started the first game.

What can Halifax expect to come up against on Saturday? Lynn will try to play football out from the back. Manager Ian Culverhouse has instilled a patient possession game into the Linnets and this style of football bagged them back-to-back promotions.

Who will be your dangerman? Sonny Carey - a young and creative midfielder who is destined for bigger and better things. The 20-year-old is attracting interest from lots of Football League clubs such as Bournemouth and Swansea.

Biggest strengths/weaknesses? Their character. Despite putting together a mix-and-match side over the last few weeks, Lynn have produced some of their best football of the season, especially against the higher-placed sides.

Injuries/suspensions? Lots of injuries, the most noteworthy being defenders Aaron

Jones and Rory McAuley along with former FA Halifax favourite Cameron King also a doubt after missing the midweek defeat at Stockport.

Likely line up and formation?

4-4-2, 4-1-4-1 or 3-5-2. Likely line-up (from): Richardson, Callan-McFadden, Clunan, Gash, Gyasi, Carey, Denton, Babos, Coleman, Baggott, Howard. Possible subs: Jackson, Kiwomya, Payne, Fleming and Bastock.
