CORONAVIRUS

Easing of lockdown measures may have to be ‘reversed’ if variants spread rapidly, says scientist

If you want to live in fear over a virus with a 99 percent survival rate - stay at home, getting jabbed three times a year. Normal people want their lives back. Living in fear of dying isn’t living.

Lee Fisher

Quick... everyone back inside! Mark Zimba

So what does the vaccine actually cover us for?

Catherine Elizabeth

Of course numbers will have gone up. It’s the authorities way of controlling us without actually forcing any laws on us.

BENEFITS

Colin Hands

A deduction in tax credits and a rise in universal credit are among the sweeping changes made to the benefits system from today

£1 increase came in this month for those on benefits to help with inflation haha. Is the £1 meant for the pound shop and a packet of balloons? Is that what they mean by help with inflation?

Philip Potter

My pension has increased, yes. But it is not a benefit as the Works and Pensions have classed it. I earned it.

Linda Eggenton Pearson

Yes, I paid into the system for 51 years to qualify for my pension, I think I’ve earned it. They have already conned me out of a year of pension by moving the retirement age to 66, thanks government.

Tommy Cooper

Half of us will be dead before we get what we paid into all our working lives!

PRINCE PHILIP

Heartbreaking photo of the Queen on her own at Prince Philip’s funeral goes viral

It’s sad to see, but she’s resilient. The rule for her on a normal day, is no one puts an arm around her. Prince Philip was the only one who did. Even her children, bow/ curtsy when they meet, even informally. So this strong resilient lady would see this as her duty.

Diane Mason

I would love to be able to put my arms around her and say it will all be okay, the country is all behind her.

Hazel Taylor

She’s only human.

Gordon Wilson

A beautiful funeral. Very touching.

Sandra Russell

She needed comfort and support, especially at her age.

Jacqueline Tarbotton

Prince Charles, being the eldest son, should have sat with the Queen, she should not have sat on her own.

Sam Field

God save the Queen. RIP Prince Philip.

Steve Mchugh

Absolutely heartbreaking but as always so dignified.

Pauline Penrose

She is a very strong lady. Tarsem Layall

So heartbroken for her, god bless the Queen.

Susan Mason

I believe it was her choice. Ann Britton

So very, very sad to see her sat alone.

CORONAVIRUS

77 cases of a new Indian Covid variant found in the UK could be ‘cause for concern’

Out of the 195 countries in the world I reckon there’s only another 180 variants to go what a load of tosh.

Mark Watson

Why have people been allowed into our country from India in the last weeks? The numbers in India are really bad.

Susan Fitzpatrick

Yet more scaremongering. Phil Atha

Here we go! We will not go back into lockdown they say... this is just another way to control us and put us back into lockdown.
