IT WAS a brilliant result for us on Tuesday night against Chesterfield.

The manager said any result we pick up away from home, especially at one of our rivals for promotion, would be fantastic, and luckily for us, we played well, certainly first-half, and stood strong second-half.

We created some good chances in the second-half but didn’t capitalise on them.

They threw everything at it with their long throws and corners but I was proud of how the lads stood up to that.

It was the perfect game for me, loads of headers, loads of tackles, it was good.

I’ve done well in that stadium before so I went into it full of confidence.

Anything I can do to help the team push forward, I will.

I think it was my 100th start for the club, which, if that’s right, I’m very proud of.

Obviously I played a lot of games in my first season, 51 or 52 games, and the second season I played a fair bit.

I’m just happy I can still be out there playing.

It’s quite tight at the top so we’ve just got to keep winning.

When you look at the squad the manager’s got to choose from there’s certainly lads ready to jump into the side, everybody’s just desperate to be playing now.

The lads are full of confidence, we have been for a while, probably since Christmas when we’ve been on a fantastic run and put some good wins on the board.

The confidence has always been there but when you go away from home to a big club like Chesterfield and come away with three points, it gives the lads a massive boost.
