CONDITIONS CERTAINLY played a part on Tuesday night but I thought we played really well.

Certainly first-half we controlled the ball, got into some really good positions, but just couldn’t get that final touch into the goal. Second-half, we were on the front-foot and desperate to push forward and get the goal and we got a fantastic one, with a great ball by Summers and a great finish by Hydey.

We said at half-time that we had to be patient and the chances would come, we had to keep the back door shut, which we did. We knew if we kept knocking on the door that a chance would fall to the right person and it did, and Hydey was calm enough to put it away.

We’re going into every game desperate to win, I think they’re all must wins now, we’ve got to that stage of the season where it’s getting to the crunch time and every game is a chance for us to push forward and get three points. That’s how we’ve got to look at it. We’ve put ourselves in such a good position and worked tremendously hard, so we’ve got to keep pushing.

We’ve had some big injuries but the team’s kept on going, kept chugging away and got those vital points that have put us in this position.

We’re in relatively good form. We’re up against a team more than capable of winning the league on Saturday so we’re going to have to be on our mettle to match them.

I think it’s just about consistency now. The manager’s got a really good squad to choose from, players coming back from injuries and desperate to play.

I feel confident in the group we’ve got. Everybody’s desperate to finish in the top seven, we’ve worked really hard, the lads have fought non-stop throughout the season. It’s just a shame we haven’t had the fans in. I hope they’re backing us at home and I hope they feel we’re doing the best we can for the club.
