LOCKDOWN
Children have been less exposed to conversation and everyday interactions due to the pandemic, and a study has shown that it’s had an impact on them.
This is total rubbish, children’s speech starts off in the home, where do you think they learn to talk in the first place?
Catherine Elizabeth
It’s affected my daughter’s eyes, too much screen time, now she has to wear glasses.
Clare Brown
And not forgetting how it’s affected older children — causing anxiety.
Jeanette Stead Linn
I think it’s affected young people more than adults.
Susan Medd
LOYALTY APPS
By only having loyalty apps on mobile phones, do you think some stores are discriminating against people who don’t have mobile phones?
I think stores should have loyalty cards as well as apps and then they don’t discriminate against people who don’t have a mobile phone or can’t get the app.
Jessica Gelder
I don’t think its fair on those who don’t have smart phones.
Gill Wittmann
It is discrimination, without a doubt.
Joanne Marchant
Yes, that’s so true, especially the older people who don’t have smart phones etc .
Christopher Poulter
As an older person I don’t like everything being on the phone. We are not all technical and don’t forget we are living longer, and don’t want to be told we have to get iPhones.
Lynda Garbutt
I’ve got a phone but don’t know how to do apps.
Maria Le
Loyalty cards aren’t all they are cracked up to be in any case, let’s get more fair pricing in place instead!
Wendy Woo
Yes, I agree. Same with coffee houses — they don’t stamp the cards anymore.
Jean Ormonroyd
They are discriminating against people who don’t have or can’t use mobile phones, or people who only use them for phone calls.

SELF-DRIVING CARS
Safety experts have warned that the Government’s announcement that selfdriving cars will be allowed on UK roads this year is potentially dangerous.
I don’t think it’s possible, not fully self-drive. I don’t trust the self-parking in my car so defo not buying one of those.
Deborah Hill
Will they have a warning displayed at the back to alert other motorists? It might lead to people cutting them up for a bit of a laugh but more sensible and capable motorists would like the choice of giving them a wide berth.
Murray Craigen
Don’t worry, we’re not going to get cars whizzing around willy-nilly on our narrow, congested streets. Very limited applications for quite a while yet, motorway lane keeping and suchlike. The biggest danger will always be careless humans.
