The highly-anticipated return of comic book’s caped crusader swooped down onto the big screen earlier this month.

Fans of DC Comics’ Dark Knight can finally enjoy this new, darker interpretation from director Matt Reeves (the Planet of the Apes trilogy) starring Robert Pattinson as Gotham City’s watchful vigilante detective.

Eduardo Leal, Head of Screen Content at Vue Entertainment, said: “Batman has had a fascinating history of big screen adventures over the years and we’re absolutely thrilled to see this brand new, epictakeinallofitsgloryonthe big screen.

“As with previous adaptations, there will be some familiar locations for our audiences in the UK, so make sure to look out for them when coming to see the film.”

St George’s Hall, Liverpool (The Batman, 2022)

The latest outing of comic books’ greatest detective continues the trend of UK

locations doubling up as Gotham City. In the heart of Merseyside, the iconic St George’s Hall in Liverpool has

been a key filming location for theupcomingblockbuster, setting a moody tone to the new take on the hero.

Glasgow (The Batman, 2022)

A location already well known for its stunning Gothic architecture, Warner Bros has also transformed the city of Glasgow into the fascinating sprawling city of Gotham with Robert Pattinson and costar Zoe Kravitz having been spotted during filming. With big brooding buildings, the Scottish city will be elevating the latest big screen outing of the Bat in line with the movie’s darker tone.

declared his love for filming in the city centre wishing that he ‘could have shot there more’ praising the city for it’s beauty.

Wollaton Hall, Nottingham (The Dark Knight Rises, 2012)

The final chapter of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy continued the breathtaking scale of Christian Bale’s Batman on the big screen, with a stunning take of Wayne Manor at Wollaton Hall outside of Nottingham city centre. In The Dark Knight Rises, Bruce Wayne’s classy estate captured the hall’s bold exteriors for some iconic scenes, including the emotional finale to the acclaimed trilogy.

ExCel Exhibition Centre, London (Batman Begins, 2005)

As well as his iconic cape, useless utility belt and stately manors, Batman is also very well known for his incredible range of bat-themed vehicles. One of the more iconic cinematic bat-mobiles, ‘the Tumbler’ from Christopher Nolan’s 2005 origin story Batman Begins starring Christian Bale, was first revealed right in the UK’s capital city. Introduced by Morgan Freeman’s Lucius Fox, the Bale Batman got to test his new ride right in one of the sleekly designed warehouses at London’s ExCel Exhibition Centre, whichhostseventsand conferences all year around as well as becoming the UK’s first Nightingale hospital during the pandemic.
