Classic car show returns to town with family fun and theatre arts
Cinemayobs sentenced forrammy
Two Blantyre men who behaved in a disorderly manner in Hamilton’s Vue Cinema by jumping on seats there were each sentenced last week.
James Thomson (30), of Welsh Drive, was ordered to carry out 80 hours’ unpaid work for his role in the November 15, 2015, incident at the Palace Grounds cinema and co-accused, 27-year-old Kevin Geddes was fined £250.
They had both pleaded guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner likely to cause fear or alarm by repeatedly shouting, running around, repeatedly jumping on chairs and acting in a disorderly manner.
Thomson had been on bail on another matter at the time of the offence.
Their not guilty pleas to a charge of recklessly destroying property by throwing chairs and a fire extinguisher within the cinema were accepted by the Crown.
The case against a third accused, 26-year-old Andrew Thomson, of Hamilton, was not called by the Crown.
At Hamilton Sheriff Court, Sheriff Allan Mckay imposed a community payback order on James Thomson as an alternative to a fine.
It required that he carry out 80 hours’ unpaid work within a year. He fined Geddes £250 discounted from £280 due to his guilty plea. The annual classic car show is returning to Hamilton this Saturday, June 11.
