Just champion as squad retain top Scottish title

-

Blantyre Soccer Academy’s disability gold squad were crowned the Scottish PAN Disability Championship winners for the second year running last weekend.

The team retained their championship trophy after a successful day of football at Glasgow Green Football Centre on Saturday that saw them win all four fixtures on the day.

Over the course of the season the team played 25 games, winning 20, drawing three and losing just two league games in nine months.

Team coach Dougie Borland was delighted to bring the league title back home to Blantyre and said:“i’m over the moon that our lads won their second championship trophy in as many years at the weekend.

“These lads have over come some huge challenges and really bonded as a team both on and off the pitch.

“The difference in them from just over two years ago when they were all strangers to now is really overwhelming.

“They exude confidence now and are ready take on anyone.

“Another fantastic season achieved.

“Well done, boys, enjoy your holidays now and we’ll see for pre-season soon.”

The Academy’s disability blacks team had a very close third place finish in the league.
