Joingroup’s pioneering walkaround thepark

Lanarkshir­e-based charity FFAMS (Families and Friends Affected by Murder and Suicide) are inviting members of the public to their pioneering event Let’s Walk About Suicide (LWAS).

The group’s aim is to encourage the public to come out and walk around Strathclyd­e Park on Sunday, September 11, at 5pm in memory of loved ones or those affected by suicide or murder.

There is no registrati­on fee or fundraisin­g required to take part in the event and those participat­ing will be given‘i’m walking for ....... ’material for anyone wishing to honour the name of photograph of a loved one by pinning it to clothing or on a memory wall.

Free activities for both children and adults will also be available on the day including speed boat rides, bouncy castle, face painting and more.

Meanwhile, FFAMS are inviting the public to design their LWAS logo, with a family pass for M&D’S plus £100 spending money up for grabs, for the September 11 event.

The competitio­n is open to everyone. All entries should be emailed to info@ffams.org.uk before the closing date of July 30. The winning logo will be unveiled at the LWAS launch event on Thursday, August 26.
