Ryan snaps up celeb weddings
A Hamilton photographer is becoming one of Scotland’s top celebrity wedding snappers after he captured the wedding of Line of Duty star Martin Compston at the weekend.
Ryan Mimiec, who last year photographed the big day of actor Gianni Capaldi, headed to Mar Hall in Bishopton as Martin (32) tied the knot with US actress Tianna Chanel Flynn.
The guests of the happy couple included Trainspotting novelist Irvine Welsh, Martin’s co-star in the hit BBC drama Vicky Mclure, Gary: Tank Commander actor Greg Mchugh – who was MC for the day – and a host of others.
Martin stars as DS Steve Arnott in the police drama, which will move from BBC2 to BBC1 for its fourth series next year.
He shot to fame as a teenager in the lead role in Scots movie Sweet Sixteen and played the part of Glasgow gangster Paul Ferris in The Wee Man in 2013.
Tianna starred in 2012 web series Secret Diary of an American Cheerleader and has appeared in TV adverts.
Ryan, a former Hamilton Grammar pupil from Eddlewood, said: “I was delighted to be asked to photograph such a high-profile wedding.
“I was recommended by Gianni Capaldi whose wedding I photographed in 2015, and Martin was a groomsman.
“It was a stunning reception, with Tianna changing outfits halfway through the wedding into an amazing short wedding dress for the evening reception which took place in the marquee in the grounds.
“Having a busy business is fantastic as I get to do what I love on a daily basis, however my children are the most important thing to me.”
Dad-of-three Ryan, who has a studio in Crossford, Lanark, has also photographed X Factor winner Leona Lewis, Sarah Harding of Girls Aloud, Ultimo supremo Michelle Mone, TV host Carol Smillie and Deacon Blue’s Lorraine Mcintosh.
