South Lanarkshire Council’s Community Learning & Home School Partnership are running a number of courses over the coming weeks to help people get back in the jobs market.

The first course will help people with their CV.

Perhaps your CV is past its best or you need one to get the job you are after. This course will help you create or update your CV, give help in setting up an email address and help you register with Universal Jobmatch. There’s no need to book, just pop along to the free course that takes place every Tuesday in Blantyre’s Terminal One Centre from July 19.

Another course will help people brush up on their IT skills.

The six-week course will take place every Tuesday, between 1pm to 3pm, from this week until August 9, in Blantyre Miners’ Welfare. It will help people learn how to use a computer, use Word and give people the tools to feel more confident in writing.

A four-week creative writing course for beginners will also start in Hamilton Town House on Tuesday, July 19, from 1pm to 3pm.

And another six-week course will help people focus on their writing skills by looking at travel writing.

It starts today (Thursday, July 7) and the first week will be in Blantyre’s Terminal One Centre. Subsequent weeks will include visits to local attractions.

Call 01698 452154 to book on any of the courses.
