Men deny fighting at homeless unit

-

Three men last week denied fighting at an Uddingston homeless unit and brandishing a plant pot and a piece of wood.

Scott Neill, Andrew Neill and Kieran O’donnell are also alleged to have thrown kitchen utensils at the Blue Triangle Housing on Old Edinburgh Road on Sunday June 19.

The trio pleaded not guilty to a charge of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner.

The charge stated that Kieran O’donnell, of the Blue Triangle unit, had been on bail on another matter at the time.

Andrew Neill also denied a charge of having an offensive weapon - a piece of wood - at the homeless unit without lawful authority and at Windsor Walk, Viewpark, on June 19.

Co-accused 45-year-old James Leitch, of Windsor Walk, denied charges of having a hammer and a piece of wood at the Blue Triangle premises and at Windsor Walk.

At Hamilton Sheriff Court last week, Sheriff Vincent Smith set the trial of Leitch, Scott Neill, of Morar Terrace, and Andrew Neill, of the Blue Triangle unit, for July 27 with an intermediate diet of July 14. Bail was continued for all three.

O’donnell’s trial and intermediate diet had been set for these dates at an earlier hearing. However, at that diet the court refused O’donnell bail and ordered he be detained in custody meantime.
