The East Kilbride Road Club were the big winners on the day with the first two cyclists across the line.

The RS50 has become a firm fixture on the calendar for cyclists at all levels, with a challenging 50-mile route enjoyed by club cyclists.

It is also a source of huge fun for the mass ride, creating a happy atmosphere as the participants wind their way between the hedges and through the villages of the Avondale countryside.

They have also raised thousands of pounds for various charities, with the fundraising total for this year still to be announced.

Organisers, Friends of Strathaven Scouts, have raised tens of thousands of pounds for charities, both at home and abroad. The local Scout and Guide troops will again benefit from the efforts this year.
