Busy summer in new Bellshill office
What a month it has been.
Since I last wrote to update you all on my work as your new constituency MSP it’s been a very busy time.
On August 18 along with friends, family and local people I cut the ribbon to my new constituency office in Bellshill.
For those of you who haven’t yet had the opportunity to visit the office, you can’t miss it.
Decked out in the purple of our Scottish Parliament and with my team on hand, it’s truly a place for local people to feel comfortable in as they share their issues and experiences.
I was delighted therefore to showcase just what my new office had to offer by hosting a fantastic open day on August 20, where I had the chance to welcome local people in to look around the office, to meet my team and to enjoy some good conversation.
I hope to keep the spirit of this approach as I move forward over the coming years.

Just last week I was in Inverness, attending the Scottish Parliament’s rural economy and connectivity away day where we were meeting with various groups and organisations and giving consideration to what the committee will be working on in the course of the coming months.
I am looking forward to attending similar events with the health and sport committee before returning to the Scottish Parliament.
So I’ve been busy preparing over the last few weeks to go back to the Scottish Parliament, which is currently in recess but will go back to work on September 6.
I’m very much looking forward to returning to parliament to see what lies ahead for Scotland.
We have an incredibly busy programme of work over the coming months, not least of which will I’m sure focus on much of the debate around Europe and the uncertainty which lies ahead.
