Canzo: We deserved our win

-

Martin Canning says Hamilton’s win over Ross County was a reward for their hard work this season.

Dougie Imrie’s 76th-minute strike saw the points stay in Lanarkshire, and Canning says it will work wonders for belief.

The defender says hard work is going to be the key, and if Accies continue to put in a shift like they did on Saturday they can stay high in the Premiership table.

He said:“it’s all credit to the players, because they continue to work hard, they believe in what we’re asking them to do, they believe that if they continue to work that way and play that way they’ll win games, which was proven on Saturday.

“The performances have been good this season. We performed well against Rangers, in the two games we didn’t win, and we performed well on Saturday, when we got what we deserved.

“It’s a good time for us to get the first win of the season, and at home, and I think it was deserved. We controlled large parts of the game.

“Ross County started well but after the first 10 minutes we got on top of the game and from there we were very good, we dominated, created opportunities and it was a really pleasing performance.

“I think every guy who played or came on performed to somewhere near their peak, and at a level that I would expect of them every week, and it’s pleasing because when that happens you give yourself a great chance of winning games.

“If that game finished 0-0 we’d have been kicking ourselves again so it’s an important goal for us, and it’s great when guys like Dougie do that, because they work so hard week in, week out, regardless of the result.

“They always put everything they’ve got into the game and when they get their wee reward with a winning goal it’s great.”
