Blantyre Vics ... 6 Maryhill

Blantyre Vics romped home 6-1 winners over Maryhill at the KG Stadium, with Stephen Higgins hitting five to boost his September tally to eight in three weeks.

The win boosted Vics’ points total to seven and hoisted them on to joint-third spot in the Super First Division.

Higgins opened his account with a left-foot drive off a Jordan Craig pass, then pounced on a Craig Smith cross to chip the keeper for a 2-1 half-time lead.

His third was again set up by Craig, his fourth was a shot from a tight angle, then he emerged on top in a one-on-one with the keeper.
