An S Club Christmas

- Robert Mitchell

S Club have stepped in to switch on Hamilton’s Christmas lights.

A trio from the chart-topping band will take the place of X Factor boyband Union J, who have had to pull out.

The day of festive fun will take place on Saturday, November 19.

There ain’t no party like an S Club party – and you can see for yourself when the chart-topping band help to switch on this year’s Christmas lights in Hamilton.

Hamilton Business Improvement District (BID) have signed up the act to headline their day of festive fun in the town square on Saturday, November 19.

Pop trio Jo O’meara, Bradley Mcintosh and Tina Barrett – previously part of the original S Club 7 – will take the place of boyband Union J who have had to pull out.

Gareth Walker, BID manager, said: “We’re very pleased to announce that Jo, Brad and Tina of S Club will be lighting up Hamilton this year as they switch on the Christmas lights and mark the official start of the festive season in the town.

“We had previously organised for Union J to do the honours, however due to their busy schedule, we’ll be welcoming Jo, Brad and Tina of S Club instead and we’re inviting the town to join in the Christmas spirit.”

Hosted by Heart Radio’s Paul Harper, the Christmas lights will be switched on at 6pm in Castle Square, following a jam-packed line-up of entertainment throughout the day, including a stage show, a craft market and a dry ski slope in Quarry Street.

The S Club trio reunited last year and have performed together at a series of gigs up and down the country. In their five years together between 1998 and 2003, the original S Club 7 had four UK number one singles and a chart-topping album.
