Harvest Christian Fellowship

We meet every Sunday,10.30am at Hillhouse/earnock Community Centre. The service this Sunday will be taken by the Ukraine Mission Team and we look forward to hearing about their latest trip.

On Monday, our Kids Club “Monday Club” for kids of primary school age starts at 7pm, Hillhouse Community Centre.

On Saturday, November 5, is Oasis café 11.30am-1pm. We serve rolls and sausage/bacon all washed down with tea and coffee. There are fun activities for the kids and pampering for the ladies.

Salvation Army Hamilton

The Salvation Army Community Church in Burnblea Street will hold its Sunday service at 10.30am. They will also be holding their Church Fair on Saturday, November 19, between 1pm and 4pm. All the usual favourite stalls including toiletries, crafts and jewellery. Entrance is £1 with refreshmen­ts £2.50.

Hamilton United Reformed Church

Our Service on Sunday, November 6, will be led by Rev Gordon W. Smith, retired URC minister. The service will begin at 11.30 and be followed by tea served in the hall.

Gifts of non-perishable items and toiletries for the Hamilton foodbank can be placed in the box in the vestibule.

Hamilton Old Parish Church

This Sunday we celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism at our morning service. Worship is at 10.45am and will be led by Rev Ross Blackman. Creche and Sunday Live! for our younger members over in the Halls during the service. Enjoy fellowship over a tea or coffee in the Halls following the service. Monday evening, the Badminton club meets at 7pm and the Saffronhal­l Singers at 7.30pm. Decoupage, Brownies, Banner Group and Old Kirk Dancers meet at their respective times on Tuesday. All sections of the Boys’ Brigade meet from 5.30pm on Wednesday with the choir meeting at 7pm.

Blantyre Livingston­e Memorial Church

The Guild will meet on November 15 when the speaker will be a member from the Street Pastors – Soup Kitchen. If you are interested, please do not hesitate to come along and enjoy an evening of informatio­n and company. Meeting will meet in the small hall at 7.30pm. and tea, coffee and home baking will be served following the meeting.

Hamilton West Parish Church

Or next service will be held on the November 6, at 11.30 am and will be led by the Reverend Alastair Gordon our Interim Moderator, all are welcome to come and join us in fact come a bit early and enjoy a tea or coffee before the service starts. Some advance notice on Friday, November 11, at 11am there will be short Remembranc­e service at, our garden of remembranc­e at the front of the church, all are welcome to attend this short service.

Blantyre Old Parish Church

Morning worship on Sunday will be led by Reverend Sarah Ross at 11am. All welcome. The Sunday Club meet as usual. Tea and coffee will be served in the Hall at close of worship. Tonight November 3, the Guild are holding an ‘Autumn Fling’ with entertainm­ent by The Jolly Beggars and the O’neill Pipe Band. Tickets are £5 which includes tea/coffee. Next week the speaker is Peggy Harvie with ‘Dolls’ Houses. On Sunday the Explorers Youth Group meet in Hillhouse Church at 6.30pm – 8pm. On Monday, November 7, at 1.45pm the Leisure Group meet and this week the speaker is Lynn Hardbattle whose topic is ‘Herdsman of the Kalahari’. Messy Church also meet on Monday from 6pm – 8pm. A 4 session study on our faith and the vows of membership – ABC of Disciplesh­ip - starts on Thursday, November 10, in the Session Room at 10.30am and continues on the following three Fridays (November 11, 18 and 25 ). On Saturday, November 26, is our Christmas Cafe at 2pm. Tickets priced £2 for adults which includes tea/coffee and £1 for children includes a Santa gift.

Gilmour and Whitehill Church

Good news ...our sanctuary is once again useable and our service last Sunday was well attended. Reverend Alasdair Gordon conducted our worship and Tom Hay provided the music. This Sunday, November 6, Reverend Gordon will be the preacher and a very warm welcome awaits all. The service starts at 10am with tea and coffee served afterwards in the coffee lounge.

A reminder to all that we will unite with our friends in Hamilton West on Sunday, November 13, for a service of Remembranc­e at 10.45am ( please note time change ). Reverend Gordon will conduct the service and our uniformed organisati­ons will be on parade. Anyone requiring transport should contact their elder. All our theatre goers are reminded that the coach will leave Wilson Street at 1.15pm this Saturday. 17th Hamilton Rainbows, Brownies and Guides are holding a Coffee Morning on Saturday, November 12 10am-noon please come along to show your support for the girls and their leaders who give so much of their free time to this organisati­on.

The box for donations for our Christmas Fayre is now placed in the vestibule. Please, if you can, help towards making this another successful event. A reminder that the fair is being held on Saturday, December 3.

Coffee, tea, chat and friendly faces are available Monday - Friday between 10am and noon in our lovely wee coffee lounge. Why not pop in?

Blantyre Congregati­onal Church

This morning Thursday, November 3, we open our doors at 10am for our Quiet Time reflective service. This service is open to all who would like to take some time out from the busyness of their lives. On Thursday evening at 7pm, our Christian Mindfulnes­s group meet in the back hall of our church.

On Friday our Junior section of The Boys’ Brigade meet followed by the Company section. On Saturday morning our church coffee morning begins with breakfast being served at 10am. On Sunday morning worship including communion begins at 11am and will be conducted by our minister Reverend Malcolm J. Anderson. Following our worship, there will be a church meeting, then you are invited to join us for Time for Fellowship in the Church Hall. On Monday, November 8 at 7.30pm our ladies group the Newcomers meet with the Glasgow Street Pastors in attendance. On Tuesday our singing group The Voice meets at 7pm with all singing enthusiast­s welcome. On Wednesday evening our Anchor Boys meet within the Church Hall. Dalserf Parish Church

1st Dalserf Boys’ Brigade meet tonight, Thursday, in Rorison Memorial Church from 5.45pm.

Prayer Group in Hamilton Hall, Dalserf on Sunday’s from 11.10am. Sunday Morning Worship in Dalserf at 11.30am and Rorison Memorial Church, Ashgill at 3.30pm on November 6.

Services will be conducted by the Reverend John Stevenson. The Sacrament of Communion will be served at both services.

Girls’ Brigade meet on Monday, November 7, from 6.15pm.

The Guild meets on Wednesday, November 9 at 7.15pm in Rorison Memorial Church when the speaker will be from the Alzheimer Society.

St John The Baptist Church, Uddingston

During November all masses, except funerals, are offered for the response of the souls of our deceased family and friends. November lists are available in the church. Our Book of Remembranc­e has been updated and is displayed in the church. There is a rosary on Sunday, November 27, at 3pm in Bothwell Park Cemetery.

Next Sunday Christmas cards, calendars and gifts will be on sale in the porch after all masses. Fr Towey asks us all to keep Christ in Christmas and to send cards with an appropriat­e holy theme.

Many thanks to all who so generously donated to the Mission Sunday Appeal. The amazing sum of £4216 was raised and has been sent to the missions!

The Pro- Life Group will meet in the hall at 7pm on Monday, November 7. The next Baptismal Talk for parents and sponsors is on Monday, November 7, at 7.30pm in the small hall. On Monday the Padre Pio Prayer Group meet after the 9.30am Mass and a silent prayer vigil for life is held from 8pm-9pm in the Oratory. The SVDP meet at 6.30pm on Tuesday and the RCIA group meet at 7.30pm in the small hall. On Wednesdays a Divine Mercy Hour begins at 7pm in the Oratory and a Prayer and Praise Group from 8pm - 9pm. The prayer garden is open Mondays to Saturdays 10am -4pm.

St Machan’s Church

Worship on Sunday, November 6, starts at 11am and this will be a Communion service. A Creche is available for babies and children up to three years and this runs from 10.45am. The Sunday Fun Club runs from 11am in the Church Hall. This is an hour of fun for children from three years to 11 years. The older children have their own programme to follow whilst the younger ones have crafts, songs, stories and a short film. The St Machan’s Walking Group will meet on Tuesday, November 8, at 10.30am behind the Church in Marshall Street.

The Friendship Circle will meet on Tuesday, November 8, in the Guild Room at 2pm and thereafter in the church for a re-dedication service during which Communion will be celebrated.

On the evening of Tuesday, November 8, Genesis Youth Club will meet in the Church Hall. This club is for young people aged between 11 years and 15. The programme for the year includes Games nights, guest speakers, quiz nights, Ten Pin Bowling, BBQ and Genesis Got Talent. There is a £2 nightly fee. The Youth club meets on every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from August until May at 7.30pm in the church hall. Entry is by the back entrance to the church. Why not go along and have some fun and make new friends.

Quarter Parish Church

On Sunday we celebrate Communion at 9.45am being conducted by Rev Donald Lawrie at 9.45am. Please come along and join us. On Wednesday, November 16, at 7.30pm we are having an evening with Georgie Macmillan when she tells us about her visit to the Holy Land, tickets will cost £5 which includes hospitalit­y. An evening not to be missed.

Hamilton South Parish Church

Reverend Donald Lawrie will conduct our Communion service on Sunday at 11.15am. There is a Retiring Offering after the service in aid of Haiti and tea, coffee, etc, will be available. The Bible Study Group will meet at 9.30am. The evening service of Communion is at 6.30pm. The craft Sharing Class meets on Monday at 10am and in the evening the Prayer Group meet at 6.30pm and the Guild at 7.30pm. On Tuesday the Brownies meet at 6.30pm and the Adult Badminton Group at 8pm. The Wednesday Fellowship is at 9.30am followed by the Coffee Shop at 10am and in the evening the Snowdrops meet at 6pm followed by the Guides at 7.15pm. On Thursday the Craft Class meet at 7pm and the Bible Study Group at 7.30pm. The Retiring Offering after the service last Sunday raised £144 in aid of The Bible Society. And the Burger and Sausage Roll event raised £110. On Sunday, November 13, there is a soup and sandwich lunch after the service...the cost is £2.50pp And it is hoped members of the congregati­on will support this. The Organ Recital is on Saturday, November 26, at 7pm with a short interval. Tickets are priced £10pp.

Hillhouse Parish Church

Our Sunday service starts as always at 10.4 am and all are welcome. On Tuesday the Guild of Friendship will meet 2pm in the lesser hall and they will welcome all who would like to join them. On Wednesday, November 9, the members of CAMEO will be celebratin­g the 60th anniversar­y of Hillhouse Church Guild with a meal at the Bentley Hotel. Reminder the coach will leave from church at 6.30pm. Our Christmas Fair takes place on Saturday, November 26, there will be a variety of stalls, Tombola, tearoom, cake and candy stall and hopefully Santa Claus will find his way there.

Hamilton Baptist Church

The services this Sunday, November 6 at 10.45am and 6.30pm will have a Mission Focus and be led by the Rev John Carrick of “Serving in Mission” (Formerly MECO). After the morning service, two members of the congregati­on will be available to pray with anyone feeling the need of prayer. Light refreshmen­ts will be served after the morning service and everyone is encouraged to join in this time of informal fellowship.

The guest speaker at the Senior Citizens meeting on Monday, November 7 (from 2-3pm) will be Michelle Kellit-smith from Glasgow. The Christmas Car Wash and Coffee Shop will be held on Saturday, November 19, from 10am to 2pm. A “Night of Worship” is being organised for that evening (Saturday, November 19) from 7.30pm. The theme will be “In Jesus Name”.
